Made with ready Gulab Jamun Mix, this is a soft,airy eggless cake with flavors of cardamom,saffron and the traditional Indian dessert-Gulab Jamun. It is a perfect fusion dessert with the traditional flavors of mava/khoya transformed into a cake. Its less work and calories as there is no frying of the gulab jamun balls and no syrup to be made.
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature. Measuring cup used is standard American measuring cup in which one cup is 250 ml and 1 tsp is 5 ml. I have used a 7 inch round pan. You can use smaller or bigger size-baking times will vary. Start checking cake at 30 minutes. I used Gits Gulab Jamun Mix, a pack of 100 gms/3.5 oz. After using 3/4 cup of the mix a little bit of the mix will be left.
